Vanlife in the Pandemic - Week #3

Happy Easter Sunday Everyone!

To start off I thought I'd make a little video to show you our temporary home through this pandemic. We feel extremely comfortable here and are quite content to stay put for as long as we need to.

This week went by really fast, it feels as though I just wrote you all a couple days ago. Andrew has kept busy (ridiculously busy) working on the van and getting it optimized for our travels around Canada. I keep telling him to slow down and pace it since we might be stuck here for awhile, but he doesn't know how to do that. I'm starting to feel like he was born for Vanlife. I'm not sure he will be able to go back to living in a house. I've been busy learning how to make our YouTube channel and going through some old vacation footage to develop my video editing skills.

This has been a really tough time for everyone and I'm extremely grateful to be in our bubble away from the chaos for the most part. I've been feeling quite a bit better this week. I take an hour in the evening as I wind down to watch the news and check out people's posts, but other than that I do my best to keep Covid out of my mind for the day. I love seeing the creative ways people are staying connected. I had video chats with friends a few days ago, but it was tough with the Wifi here being spotty. I took that as my sign to disconnect for awhile. Some of the conspiracy theories out there are quite ridiculous, it's entertaining to read. We are all facing a situation that's new to us, no one knows exactly what to do.

Here's our week in a nutshell for those of you who aren't following our social media stories

We have officially named our van "Vagabond" and decided it's a "he".The definition of Vagabond is "a person who wanders from place to place without a home or job." We debated calling him "little India" since that's where we were supposed to be right now, but Vagabond suits our journey more appropriately.

Just to throw something else into the blog this week to keep you all entertained and distracted from the news if you're bored. I made a few videos from our trip to the Dominican Republic last year for our YouTube channel. I'm slowly figuring out what I'm doing. I'm sure someday I'll look back on these and laugh at how terrible my editing skills were... but you've gotta start somewhere. Enjoy the laughs everyone :)
