Heart Creek trail is a beautiful 4.7 km walk near Canmore. It is very easy to get to right off the highway. Had no troubles parking.
There are benches to sit on and relax and nice bridges to cross over throughout the walk.. It's also a popular climbing area so we found it interesting to watch the climbers. I've heard this is a great winter hike, but I've only been in the summer. Safe to do solo for sure.
There are a few spots you can scramble to climb at the end if you wish to challenge yourself a little. This walk will certainly give you your nature fix although I found the "waterfall" at the end quite small. I would certainly recommend this to anyone with small kids or who isn't wanting anything strenuous. I took my nephews and they enjoyed it before we headed into Canmore for the day.
